Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Avon, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Work day shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), Monday through Saturday (variable schedule)
• Must have experience in orthopedic, general surgery, urology, ENT, plastics, vascular, and gynecology surgeries
• Minimum of 18 months recent and permanent OR experience prior to travel assignment
• Must work at least every other holiday
• ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety exam required during orientation with passing scores

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum of 18 months recent and permanent Operating Room (OR) experience prior to travel assignment, including OR experience within the last year
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), plastic surgery, vascular surgery, and gynecology (OB/GYN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of recent and permanent OR nursing experience prior to travel assignment
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties as listed above

Additional Requirements

• Must complete facility-specific onboarding modules prior to start
• Must pass baseline competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation during orientation (not required for legacy candidates with less than 6 months gap between contracts)
• Must submit 2 professional references from within one year of start date (managerial or supervisory level)
• Employment application must include at least 3 years prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area
• Must carry government-issued photo ID during assignment
• Must complete all required health and safety documentation and attestations prior to start

Notes

• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Candidates with gaps longer than 30 days between assignments may need to update physical and eye exams
• Facility requires compliance with all immunization and health screening policies; medical and religious exemptions must be approved through agency and facility process
• Orientation includes medication safety and ECG rhythm recognition testing with required passing scores

This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses with a strong background in multiple surgical specialties and who hold a valid Ohio nursing license.
