Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift)

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry
• Minimum Experience: 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
• License: Must have a permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• At least 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID) required and must be carried on assignment
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • SSN trace, county/state/nationwide checks
  • National Sex Offender Registry
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monthly checks
  • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Education verification required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including assessment of ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if needed
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required annually (no declinations accepted)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant screens not accepted)
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) required for bedside RNs (except OR RNs) during orientation
• SafeMedicate preparation materials provided for exam preparation

Additional Requirements

• References: 2 professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years in acute care and similar area
• Annual skills checklist
• Fingerprint attestation required after fingerprinting
• Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start

Notes

• Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months at this or related facilities may need to repeat orientation modules and competency exams
• Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines and fit mask are accepted but require agency approval and facility review
• PAPRs are not provided for fit test failures due to facial hair; shaving or approved exemptions required
