Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland

Job Description

• Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and vascular cases preferred; also includes gynecology and general surgery.
• Case types include general surgery, vascular, orthopedic (including joint surgeries), neurosurgery, urology, plastics, bariatrics, laparoscopic procedures, gynecology, ENT, and robotics.
• Facility operates 10 OR rooms daily starting at 7:30 AM.
• No weekend requirement; some Saturday day shifts possible.
• Block scheduling available (Monday-Friday).
• First-time travel nurses not accepted.
• No on-call or call requirements.
• Pending license accepted.
• EPIC electronic health record system experience required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Orthopedics (Ortho), Neurosurgery/Neuro, Vascular, Gynecology (GYN), and General (GEN) surgery
• Current Registered Nurse license in Maryland or a compact state license with proof of residency
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• Must have proof of physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Flu vaccine required; no declinations or exemptions accepted
• Proof of 2 clinical references required

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks.
• Annual verification of required certifications and background checks.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required.
• NURSYS license verification required.
• NIH Stroke Certification required (except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery units).
• Documentation for I9, driver's license/state ID, and E-Verify required.

Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles may receive a different rate (not disclosed here).
• Candidates must be able to complete fingerprinting in Maryland if applicable (school placements only).
• Candidates must be prepared to comply with all health and safety documentation and vaccination requirements prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses with a strong background in orthopedic, neuro, and vascular surgeries who are ready for a travel contract in Maryland.
