Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery

Job Details

• Shift Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM and 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Work Schedule: 5 days one week, 4 days the next (72 hours over two weeks)
• Days Off: 1 day off every other week
• Patient Population: Pediatrics to Geriatrics
• Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis
• Typical Census: 5 rooms, average daily census of 18
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Floating: Rare, within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call Requirements: No formal call, but may be required to stay late based on room completion status
• Weekend Work: None
• Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient surgery experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience in hand surgery
• Experience in ENT surgery
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance with documentation and certifications required to start on time
• Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Maximum Return to Office (RTO) days: 7
• RTO Blackout Dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th)

Required Documentation & Health Screenings

• Valid RN license for Georgia
• Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification of nursing degree (can be pending with proof of processing)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
• Immunizations or titers for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
• Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
• Annual NURSYS verification
• Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as required
• Color blindness testing required

• Scrub color provided by the facility
• Dress and professional appearance policies must be reviewed and followed
• Candidate must review and sign code of conduct prior to start
• References: 2 clinical references required
• Work history verification required (can be pending with proof of processing)
