Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgery
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Details
- Shift Hours: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM and 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Work Schedule: 5 days one week, 4 days the next (72 hours over two weeks)
- Days Off: 1 day off every other week
- Patient Population: Pediatrics to Geriatrics
- Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis
- Typical Census: 5 rooms, average daily census of 18
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Floating: Rare, within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Call Requirements: No formal call, but may be required to stay late based on room completion status
- Weekend Work: None
- Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with experience within the last year
- Outpatient Surgery experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance with documentation and certifications required to start on time
- Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) days: 7
- RTO Blackout Dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
Required Documentation & Health Screenings
- Valid RN license for Georgia
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification of nursing degree (can be pending with proof of processing)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
- Immunizations or titers for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Annual NURSYS verification
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as required
- Color blindness testing required
Additional Notes
- Scrub color provided by the facility
- Dress and professional appearance policies must be reviewed and followed
- Candidate must review and sign code of conduct prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Work history verification required (can be pending with proof of processing)
