Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Acute Care Float Pool RN position.
  • Must be willing to float to all medical-surgical floors including:
    • Orthopedics
    • Medical-Surgical
    • Neurology Step Down
    • Oncology
    • Surgical Telemetry
    • Medical-Surgical Telemetry
  • Must be willing to float to an additional campus approximately 9.5 miles away.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Demonstrated Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) RN experience.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • License verification dated within 30 days of start.
  • Fit test.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
  • Immunizations and health requirements:
    • COVID-19 vaccine (with booster or approved exemption).
    • MMR (proof of two vaccinations or immunity titer).
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date.
    • Influenza vaccine or approved exemption.
    • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
    • Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction).
    • 2-step PPD or IGRA for TB screening.
  • Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
  • Background checks including federal, nationwide, and county criminal history within the last 7 years.
  • Various professional and compliance forms including code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, conflict of interest disclosure, and others as required by the employer.
  • Specialty skills checklist and competency testing.
  • System access form to be completed one week before start.

Additional Notes

  • This role requires flexibility to work across multiple units and locations.
  • The assignment is for approximately 13 weeks.
  • All documentation and certifications must be current and uploaded as required prior to start.
