X-Ray Tech Job Opportunity

Location: Tacoma, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced X-Ray Tech to work in a general radiology department. The role involves performing portable and departmental X-rays, including emergency department imaging. The position is part of a team with no solo shifts.


Work Schedule

  • Tuesday to Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM
  • Minimal on-call duties

Department Details

  • 4 X-ray rooms, 4 portable units, 2 fluoroscopy rooms
  • No floating to other areas; strictly X-ray duties
  • Approximately 20-50 scans/studies per day
  • Equipment includes GE, Siemens, Shimadzu
  • Uses McKesson PACS and EPIC systems
  • In-house radiologist available 8 AM to 5 PM; after hours reads done off-site
  • No IV starts required
  • Scrubs provided

Orientation

  • 2 hours with manager
  • 2 weeks staff orientation

Required Qualifications

  • Must have Washington State Radiologic Technologist license in hand
  • ARRT (R) certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Radiation badge required (traveler responsible for obtaining; facility does not provide)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience preferred, ideally in a larger, fast-paced hospital setting
  • Candidates must not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with certain large healthcare systems within the past year

Additional Notes

  • Facility does not provide radiation badges
  • Position does not require Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA) duties
  • Transporters available on day and swing shifts
  • No graveyard shift lead; day and swing shift leads available
