Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 2 months
Job Description
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM to 7 AM)
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Georgia
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard for Medical Surgical RN roles (typically 1+ years)
- Certifications (must be current and valid):
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required for Medical Surgical specialty
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required if working with pediatric patients in related areas
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – if applicable
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – may be required depending on unit
- Background check completed prior to start
- Photo ID and valid Driver’s License or State ID required
- Education verification of nursing degree required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- TB testing (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months, with follow-up if positive
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap recommended (not required for clearance)
- Color blindness testing required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (confirm if applicable)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
- Two clinical references required
Additional Information
- Background check must be completed prior to start; no pending background checks allowed
- Some certifications may be required within 30 days of hire if not prior to start
- Candidates must review and sign code of conduct and dress/professional appearance policies prior to start
- Physical exam must be uploaded with appropriate expiration date
- Candidates cannot start with drug screen results pending
- Clinical remediation is not allowed for competency exams; candidates have up to 3 attempts before cancellation
