Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU/IMC

Location: Weston, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Number of Beds: 30
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4, may stretch to 1:5 with additional CNA support or sick call
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac conditions, NSTEMI, post-cardiac cath lab, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, GI bleed, detox, respiratory distress, sepsis

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience managing IV nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, and amiodarone
• Post-cardiac cath lab experience is beneficial
• Arterial line experience appreciated but not required
• RNs are required to titrate drips including nitroglycerin, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, and amiodarone
• Charge nurses take assignments (2 patients)
• Experience working with tele/monitor techs; RNs read their own telemetry strips

Equipment & Support Staff

• Respiratory Therapy equipment used: CPAP, BiPAP, Optiflow
• Telemetry monitors used (brand noted but omitted here)
• Nurse aides available with ratios approximately 1:10-12 depending on census

Scheduling & Work Requirements

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call/Standby: Yes, required
• Floating: Required to float to Medical-Surgical or IMC overflow in ICU
• Orientation: Up to 3 days specific to unit
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Certifications & Licenses Required

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification
• EKG course completion required

Additional Notes

• Must indicate if previously worked at this facility; if yes, last date of employment must be at least 6 months prior to submission
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

This position is suitable for experienced PCU/IMC RNs comfortable with cardiac patient care, titrating drips, and working in a fast-paced progressive care environment.
