Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Stepdown/Med Surg Overflow/CV Experience

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in Stepdown, Medical-Surgical Overflow, and Cardiovascular (CV) units. This role involves team nursing with a ratio of 1:6. Shifts are 36 or 48 hours, with schedule details to be discussed during the interview.


Requirements

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Level I trauma experience
  • Trauma experience
  • Large hospital experience
  • One completed travel assignment (prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted)
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • EFM or Advanced AWHONN certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Notes

  • Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats/headphones, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months).
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
  • Two recent professional references required.
  • Skills checklist and internal evaluations required for contract renewals or extensions.

This position is ideal for experienced travel nurses with trauma and large hospital experience who are ready to work in a fast-paced acute care environment with a Level I Trauma Center.
