Job Opportunity: PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry floor.
• Must have ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Recent experience required: Minimum 2+ years of recent PCU/Telemetry nursing experience.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system and phlebotomy within the last 12 months is required and must be listed on the resume.
• No time off (RTO) allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment. Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed during the entire assignment. No block-scheduling requests accepted.
• Accredited nursing degree required (ACEN or CCNE accredited).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses if applicable), with medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case.
• MMR immunity: Titer or 2 adult MMR vaccines required; negative titer requires boosters.
• Hepatitis B immunity: Titer or complete 3-series vaccine proof required; negative titer requires boosters.
• Influenza vaccine required during October-April season (medical/religious exemptions require approval).
• Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements; no declinations accepted.
• Varicella immunity: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; negative titer requires boosters.
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years recommended.
• Annual TB questionnaire completion required.
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually.
• Background checks: Comprehensive criminal background check, OIG search, EPLS search within 90 days of start.
• Education verification and social security card required.
• Fit test for N95 respirators within one year, updated annually.
• Pre-employment physical within one year confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
• Valid government-issued photo ID required.

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Unit-specific competency exam with passing score required, updated annually.
• Unit-specific skills checklist completed annually.
• EKG and Telemetry exams with passing score of 80% or higher, within one year.
• Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, OSHA topics within 90 days of start, updated annually.
• RN submission packet checklist must be completed and included with application.

• No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
• Time off restrictions and scheduling policies are strict and must be adhered to.
