Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Weston, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Registered Nurse in Emergency Room (ER)
- Minimum Experience Required: At least 2 years in ER nursing
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend shifts as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope as needed
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Local candidates accepted at same rate
- Pending license not accepted
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
- Epic electronic health record experience at level 3 or 4 required; time-sensitive modules must be prioritized immediately upon assignment confirmation
- Smoke-free facility: all travelers must be nicotine-free (verified by negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine test)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (must be obtained prior to start)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- At least 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Proof of I9 or attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- E-Verify documentation
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance (must be completed prior to start; Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year (no Florida Medical Marijuana card acceptance)
- Seasonal influenza vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Two professional references within 2 years (required for travel positions)
- Employment application and performance evaluations as applicable
- Pass/fail testing on EKG and medication administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
Orientation and Training
- Completion of online training modules prior to start is mandatory (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video content must be watched fully before testing)
- Modules include COVID documentation submission and other facility-specific training
- Failure to complete modules on time may delay start date
Additional Notes
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests are unlikely to be approved
- Facility is smoke-free and requires nicotine testing
- Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
- Candidates with a break greater than 6 months between assignments at this facility may need to re-orient
