Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

Location: Covington, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit Details

• Ability to work in all critical care areas including NICU, adult ICU, Emergency Department, and basic floor therapy
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Must hold a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license valid in Georgia
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Other certifications may be required based on specialty/unit (refer to clinical guidelines)

Compliance & Screening

• Full compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time
• Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval
• Background check, education verification, and licensure verification required prior to start
• Physical exam within 12 months required
• Drug screening (10-panel) required within 60 days of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season

Orientation & Training

• Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Competency exams required including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and color blindness testing
• Must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy

Additional Information

• Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
• Holiday work expectations: If one or more major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work those holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Skills checklist and work history verification required within 12 months
