Job Description

• Work on an Adaptive Acuity Unit with occasional assignment to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) care at a 3:1 patient ratio (non-negotiable).
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:5 on a 25-bed unit.
• Must have experience with drips, specifically insulin drips, esmolol drips, and sodium drips.
• Traveler must be willing to float to any inpatient unit within their scope of practice.
• Requests for time off during the assignment must be submitted and approved at the time of application; no requests accepted after offer or during interview.
• Own vehicle required for this assignment.
• Non-billable orientation hours: 0.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of current Med Surg and Telemetry experience.
• Minimum 3 months previous travel nursing experience (non-negotiable).
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is strongly required.
• Drip experience is required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• ICU experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in small critical access facilities preferred.
• Skills checklist documentation current within 1 year for:

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
  • Telemetry (Tele)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment required.
• Vermont RN license or Compact RN license valid in Vermont required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification required.

• This is a 25-bed critical access hospital setting.
• The position requires flexibility and adherence to strict scheduling and time-off policies.
• Travelers without voicemail set up on their phones may be redirected.
• Holiday multiplier and overtime pay details are not included here.

This role is ideal for experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RNs with prior travel experience who are comfortable working in a critical access hospital environment and providing PCU-level care when needed.
