Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process during assigned shifts.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Initiate and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
• Complete patient population, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in a large Operating Room (OR), including experience within the last year
• Ability to scrub during procedures
• At least 13 weeks of total travel nursing experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic electronic health record experience (training available on-site).
• Experience in Orthopedics, EENT, and/or Vascular specialties.
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).

Education Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.

This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses who have prior travel assignment experience and are comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment.
