MRI Technician Job Opportunity

Location: Troy, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform MRI scanning for inpatient and emergency room patients, with some outpatient scans.
  • Must be able to scan independently; will work alongside an imaging aide, not another MRI technologist.
  • Equipment used: Siemens Espree MRI scanner.
  • Documentation system: EPIC EMR.
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM.
  • No holiday or weekend requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid MRI Technologist license in New York
  • Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience working in inpatient settings
  • Experience working in outpatient settings

Required Onboarding and Compliance Credentials

Candidates must provide documentation for the following prior to or at onboarding:

  • COVID-19 vaccination (including booster proof or approved exemption).
  • MMR vaccination or immunity proof.
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (specific mask requirements apply).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series (proof of initiation required).
  • Influenza vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal).
  • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA test).
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
  • Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within the last year).
  • 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
  • Professional documentation including resume, skills checklist (within one year), and two professional references.
  • Confidentiality, conflict of interest, criminal background check (7 years), education verification, exclusion screenings (EPLS, OIG), integrity and audit forms, Joint Commission CORE exam, national sex offender check, system access form, skills checklist, license/certification verification (within 30 days), and specialty-specific competency testing (within one year).
  • Code of conduct form and standard employment eligibility verification (I-9).

Additional Information

  • This position requires independent operation of MRI equipment with minimal direct supervision.
  • Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
