Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor Pool

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks (approximately 4 months)
Shift: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts starting at 06:45
Unit: Labor Pool (Med/Surg with floating to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care primarily on Med/Surg units with floating assignments to other specialties including Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW.
• Telemetry monitoring available on different units.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:6.
• Charge nurse assigned on all units.
• Nurse aides and OB techs available; CNA ratio generally 1:8 to 1:10.
• Floating between units required; must be flexible with changing assignments during shifts.
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
• On-call requirement: low census on-call.
• Holiday schedule rotates with permanent staff.
• Common equipment includes BIPAP, CPAP, vapotherm, Draeger ventilators (ventilator experience limited to certain units).
• IV team available; PICC lines utilized.
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7.
• C-section experience not required.
• Floor-specific orientation provided.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support) or NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required depending on unit:

  • ICU/ED: BLS, ACLS, ASLS, NIHSS
  • Med/Surg: BLS, ASLS or NIHSS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience without prior travel assignments
  OR
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience plus completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment (prior travel experience required if less than 4 years total experience)
