Job Opportunity: RN CVICU

Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)


Job Description

Seeking highly motivated critical care nurses who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The unit cares for some of the most critically ill patients, primarily focusing on cardiothoracic surgery (open heart recovery) and neuro/neurosurgery. The team also provides ICU-level care for COVID-19 patients, including those requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).


Required Qualifications

  • License: Current RN license verified through Nursys or primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association)
    • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • Experience:
    • Specialty: Critical care nursing in Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
    • Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated (assume experienced critical care nurse)
  • Health Requirements:
    • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella: Documented proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Fit Test for respiratory protection (updated annually)
    • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with required follow-up documentation
    • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
    • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements)
    • Professional references (at least two)
    • Criminal background check including social security trace, OIG search, and national sex offender registry
    • Skills checklist and competency exams specific to the unit and specialty
    • Completion of onboarding education and competency attestations
    • Passing score on unit-specific EKG exam and Cerner test-out
    • Resume/profile and employment verification for the past seven years
