Job Opportunity: RN ICU
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Every other weekend
- No on-call duties
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- CPI or MOAB certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Onboarding and Testing Requirements
- Completion of specialty competency exams with minimum 80% passing score (Ascension Specialty Exam, EKG Exam)
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics with minimum 80% passing score
- Color vision test, health statement, and physical exam updated annually
- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Fit test for respiratory protection (annual update)
- Immunizations and health requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
- Varicella (two vaccines or immunity proof, no declinations)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
- TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest x-ray if positive)
Documentation Required for Submission
- Professional resume/profile
- Two professional references
- Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements)
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG, National Sex Offender, and other relevant searches within 30 days of assignment start
- Employment verification for past seven years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
Additional Onboarding Requirements (Prior to or at Start)
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment
- Completion of onboarding education attestations and modules
- Skills checklist for clinical specialty, updated annually
- Badge photo (headshot with white or blue background, no filters)
- On-site CPI/MOAB High Risk training portion at orientation (optional but recommended)
Notes
- All certifications and verifications must be current and compliant with facility standards
- Some onboarding documents and tests must be updated every 1-3 years depending on the requirement
- Candidate must be prepared to complete certain training and testing prior to or immediately upon assignment start
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs seeking a long-term assignment with a structured schedule and comprehensive onboarding process.
