Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule: Every other weekend, no on-call required
Uniform: Ceil blue scrubs
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Cerner OneChart
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or MOAB De-Escalation Course certification
- Emergency Pediatric Life Support (EPLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding and Testing Requirements
- Completion of Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation prior to start.
- Specialty competency exam with a minimum passing score of 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics, with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
- EKG exam with passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years.
- Skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and nursing contract worker onboarding onsite.
- Pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip training for non-allied positions.
Health and Safety Requirements
Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted
- Varicella – two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted
- Tdap – valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (October 1 through March 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
Tuberculosis screening:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA within specified timeframes prior to start
- If positive, negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire
Fit test for respiratory protection, preferred prior to start but can be completed onsite; updated annually.
12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Documentation and Verification
- Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references required prior to submission.
- Criminal background check including social security trace, OIG search, national sex offender registry, and other relevant checks within 30 days prior to assignment.
- Employment verification for the past seven years.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
- Driver’s license or state ID matching address on file, valid and unexpired.
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).

- This position uses Cerner OneChart EHR.
- No call responsibilities.
- The assignment length is approximately 13 weeks.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
