Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks
Holidays: As needed
No on-call required

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED) required
First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)

Required Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIH Stroke Certification (required for all ER RNs)
Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia Exam (must pass with minimum score; 2 attempts allowed)

Preferred Certifications

CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Previous Charge RN and Level 2 Trauma experience preferred

Required Skills & Competencies

EPIC electronic health record system experience required
Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must pass with minimum score)
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (except Behavioral Health or Case Managers)

License Requirements

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Social Security Card
Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
High School Diploma/GED verification
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
Fit mask test (N95 respirator) completed within current calendar year and updated annually
Physical exam (if applicable)

Additional Requirements

Completion of Health History Form prior to clearance
Facility-specific photo for badge (business casual or uniform, no selfies or altered backgrounds)
Completion of EPIC test with passing score prior to start
Review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment forms
Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
Verification of employment history for last 5 years
Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with experience within the last year
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
