Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks
- Holidays: As needed
- No on-call required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED) required
- First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all ER RNs)
- Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia Exam (must pass with minimum score; 2 attempts allowed)
Preferred Certifications
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Previous Charge RN and Level 2 Trauma experience preferred
Required Skills & Competencies
- EPIC electronic health record system experience required
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must pass with minimum score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (except Behavioral Health or Case Managers)
License Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
- High School Diploma/GED verification
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Fit mask test (N95 respirator) completed within current calendar year and updated annually
- Physical exam (if applicable)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of Health History Form prior to clearance
- Facility-specific photo for badge (business casual or uniform, no selfies or altered backgrounds)
- Completion of EPIC test with passing score prior to start
- Review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment forms
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Verification of employment history for last 5 years
- Two supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
