Travel Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Adult to Geriatric patient population
- 42-bed unit primarily caring for post-surgical patients including Orthopedics, Urology, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Neurology, and General Surgery
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Unit uses Epic electronic health record system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Weekend shifts every other weekend
- Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to orientation (RTO) required within 7 days of assignment start
- Orientation blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- First-time travel nurses not accepted
Additional Information
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length
- Floating within the facility as needed
- Full compliance with all requirements necessary to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment start delays
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Dress code: Navy blue scrub color
- Facility-specific policies and code of conduct must be reviewed and signed prior to start

- Not explicitly required, but 1st time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical RNs comfortable with a variety of post-surgical adult patient populations and who meet all licensure, certification, and compliance requirements.
