Job Details

• Location: Fremont, California
• Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
• Contract Length: Approximately 4–5 months (interpreted from 20 weeks)
• Shift Options:

  • 12-hour night shifts (11:00 PM – 11:00 AM), 3 shifts per week (0.9 FTE)
  • 8-hour night shifts (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week (0.6 FTE)
  • Shift preference is flexible based on candidate choice
• Call: Must be willing to take call
• Weekends/Holidays: Must be available to work as needed
• Scheduling: Flexibility required based on department needs
• Start Date: Early May, no later than May 11

Job Description

• Small hospital setting just south of Oakland, CA
• Operating rooms: 8 total, typically running no more than 5 simultaneously
• Case types: Mostly orthopedic and neurological cases
• No trauma cases or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) nursing assignments
• Use of Pyxis medication dispensing machines and Epic electronic health record system
• Candidate should be able to function independently after standard orientation
• Additional coverage may be requested during staff vacation periods (late June to mid-July and mid-August) with potential increase to 5 shifts per week and transition to 8-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience as an OR circulating nurse and trauma experience required
• Ability to scrub preferred but not mandatory
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Familiarity with Epic system required

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and take call as needed
