Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)

Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW)

Job Description

• Work on a MedSurg unit specializing in Nephrology.
• Minimal to no Return to Origin (RTO) required (must be included on submission).
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Foley Management (Intermediate)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID, color copy of driver's license).
• Proof of eligibility to work (I9, E-Verify).
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and national databases.
• State-specific fingerprinting requirements (Georgia GCHEXS system).
• Proof of education (diploma or transcript).
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency.
• Health documents including:

  • Physical exam within 1 year and updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 30 days of start
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (flu season runs Sept 3 - Mar 31; deadline Nov 21 for vaccination or exemption submission)
• Facility-specific documents and healthstream training modules must be completed prior to start.
• Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies, shoulders up, plain background).

Additional Notes

• Two recent supervisor/manager references required, verified within 12 months.
• Performance evaluations and internal evaluations may be required if previously worked with the agency.
• Candidates must be able to complete fingerprinting promptly; a 30-day grace period applies.
• Flu exemption requires detailed documentation and facility approval.
• Dress code must be reviewed by the candidate.

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with MedSurg experience looking for a travel assignment in Georgia, with a focus on nephrology patients. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
