Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks


Job Description

  • Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
  • Unit: Telemetry
  • Typical Diagnoses: CHF, MI/Chest pain (pre- and post-cath), Dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), Hypo-/Hypertension, Pleural effusion, Sepsis, PE/DVT/vascular issues
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4-5 (16 rooms)
  • Electronic Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
  • Schedule: Every other weekend; floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including at least 2 years of telemetry experience
  • Telemetry experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Additional Information

  • Floating within the facility may be required as per scope of practice
  • Compliance with all documentation and credentialing is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in assignment start delays
  • Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen to determine fit before final approval
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate

This position offers an opportunity to work in a telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiovascular and related conditions, utilizing Epic electronic health records and working within a supportive team environment.
