Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technician

Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Position: Interventional Radiology Technician
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week, 4 shifts of 9.5 hours each (7:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • On-Call: 1 day per week plus an on-call weekend every 3rd or 4th weekend (from Friday 5 PM to Monday 7 AM)
  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID
  • Background checks including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender registry, and others within 30 days of start
  • Education verification as applicable
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (instant drug screen permitted; marijuana not required)
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (medical and religious exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blindness testing (Ishihara)
  • Competency exams as applicable to specialty
  • Signed acknowledgment of safety and orientation manuals
  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years of hire)
  • Skills checklist required

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and other specialty certifications may be required depending on unit assignment; verify with job specifics.

This position offers a structured schedule with on-call responsibilities and requires compliance with comprehensive credentialing and health documentation standards.
