Job Opportunity: Interventional Technologist I
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Clinical Technician (Entry-Level)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
This entry-level position works under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor to achieve initial competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. The role supports medical staff in diagnosing, caring for, treating, and monitoring simple to complex conditions in adult and/or pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care using cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology in various care settings including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, urgent care, and outreach clinics.
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical outcomes and service goals.
- Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures within scope of practice guidelines.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet department protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and improve care.
Required Skills & Experience
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Oklahoma
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or completion of a two-year Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) program
Required Certifications & Licensure
Must hold one of the following certifications:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT)
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT)
- Radiography (ARRT)
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Education
- Not specified / Not required

- This is an entry-level role with supervision and mentoring provided.
- No prior travel experience is required.
- Ability to work in a variety of clinical settings and adapt to routine or emergent conditions is essential.
