Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed

Locals Accepted: No RN candidates within 75 miles; locals accepted for LPNs only

Job Description

• Work on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit (assignment given at time of offer)
• Patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:7
• Must have worked in acute care within the past 6 months
• Floating within skillset required
• Charting experience with EPIC required
• Scrub color: Navy blue and white combinations

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting, with recent acute care experience within the past 6 months
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Clinical skills including cardiac monitoring and emergency response, specifically dysrhythmia interpretation/management and Rapid Response/Code team activation
• State License 1 Verification

Experience

• Minimum specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; must have recent acute care experience within 6 months

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and updated monthly
• Education verification from primary source required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
• References and employment verification required (specific to agency)

Additional Notes

• Must submit scheduling requests at time of application
• Client may cancel up to three shifts during the contract without penalty
• Orientation and compliance modules will be provided prior to start
• Floating may be required within the nurse’s skillset

This position is ideal for RNs with acute care experience who are comfortable working night shifts on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit and have strong cardiac monitoring skills. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
