Physical Therapist Travel Job - California

Location: Northridge, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The role may involve working in outpatient, inpatient, or rehab areas, with patient volume varying by assignment (up to 9 patients/day outpatient, up to 13 patients/day inpatient). The position requires flexibility to cover assigned areas and potentially float to other units.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shifts typically 8 hours, varying start times
• Possible shift patterns include Wed-Sun or Thu-Mon
• Weekend requirements vary by assignment
• Holidays are not required
• Orientation: Approximately 1.5 days of floor-specific orientation including job, unit, and EMR (Cerner Powerchart) training
• Uniform: Maroon polo shirt, dark pants, closed-toe shoes; lab coat optional
• Rehab aides and assistants available to support rehab activities
• 24/7 pharmacy access

Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

• Inpatient: Orthopedic, post-surgical, neurological, trauma, cardiac, medical-surgical cases
• Outpatient: Orthopedic and neurological cases
• Rehab: Neurological, spinal cord injuries, trauma
• No NICU, pediatrics, PICU, ER, or ICU patients assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapist experience
• Physical Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel experience preferred
• Trauma experience preferred

Additional Notes

• Candidates with inpatient clinical experience may be considered even if they do not meet the full one-year experience requirement, depending on requisition specifics
