Location: Northridge, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The role involves working in various areas including outpatient, inpatient, and rehab, with patient volume and specific assignments varying by location.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS Certification
• Must have passed the NBCOT exam for Occupational Therapy certification

Work Details

• Patient load varies by assignment:

  • Outpatient: up to 9 patients per day
  • Inpatient: up to 13 patients per day
  • Rehab: varies
• Shifts typically 8 hours, schedules vary (e.g., Wed-Sun or Thu-Mon)
• Weekend requirements vary by assignment
• Holidays are not required
• May be required to float to different areas as needed
• Orientation: Approximately 1.5 days of floor-specific orientation including job, unit, and EMR (Cerner Powerchart) training
• Rehab aides and assistants are available to support therapy sessions

Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

• Inpatient: Orthopedic, post-surgical, neurological, trauma cases, cardiac, and medical-surgical patients
• Outpatient: Orthopedic and neurological cases
• Rehab: Neurological, spinal cord injuries, trauma
• No NICU, pediatrics, PICU, ER, or ICU patients for OT

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required
• Trauma experience is preferred
• Candidates with inpatient clinical experience may be considered even if they do not meet the full one-year experience requirement specified in some requisitions
• Uniform: Maroon polo shirt, dark pants, closed-toed shoes; lab coat optional
