Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift options: 5x8 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts (may change during interview)
- 40 hours per week
- On-call responsibilities (details to be discussed during interview)
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
- Operating Room experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
License Requirements
- Must have a Tennessee nursing license or a compact nursing license at time of application
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except pediatric specialty)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- I-9 form and attestation
- Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport)
- Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
- Education verification (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
- Sex offender search
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass with no limitations)
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results allowed)
- Immunizations and health requirements including:
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer or signed declination
- TB testing (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, with chest x-ray if positive
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
Additional Requirements
- Two recent professional references
- Skills checklist and internal evaluations as applicable
- Photo for badge with strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, taken within last 6 months)
- Confidentiality acknowledgment signed prior to start
- Must comply with dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs, business casual with lab coat for RN Case Managers
Notes
- Prior travel experience is required if only 2 years of OR experience is held
- Contract length is approximately 13 weeks
- On-call and scheduling details will be discussed during interview
- Must have appropriate licensure and live at least 100 miles from the facility location
