Labor and Delivery Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Silver City, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Guaranteed hours
• Start Date: ASAP (can start as soon as compliant)
• Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
• Total Staffed Beds: 25
• Charting System: Meditech (or comparable EMR preferred)
• Parking: Free
• Scrub Color: Royal blue for RNs

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Maternal-Newborn experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background check: 7-year criminal history, education verification, fingerprinting (state-required), EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Drug testing: 10-panel including THC within last 12 months; additional drug and alcohol screening at orientation
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters or declination forms accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
• Fit-tested N95 mask required (specific models accepted; PAPR fittings allowed for bearded candidates)
• Influenza vaccine strongly encouraged; declination accepted with mask requirement during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Must carry government-issued photo ID during work hours
• Passport-style photo required for badge (no filters, no facial piercings)
• Completion and signing of facility-specific policies and agreements (e.g., confidentiality, code of conduct, drug-free workplace, conflict of interest)
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, updated annually

Notes

• Locals within 70 miles accepted
• Meditech proficiency preferred but not mandatory
• No pending license acceptance
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
