Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist
Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Required Qualifications
- License/Certifications:
- RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- BLS (Basic Life Support, AHA)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, AHA)
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years hospital-setting experience in Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver's license at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
- Must not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
- Fingernails: Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
Job Details
- Department: Cath Lab Interventional Tech
- Work Environment:
- 3 Cath Lab suites/labs
- Average 4-5 cases per day
- Common patient diagnoses: Compression fractures, venous access, hydronephrosis, chest pain, pulmonary hypertension, shortness of breath, gastric ulcer, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis
- Job Duties:
- Intra-procedural circulating
- Supplies and medication administration
- Sedation assistance
- EMR/Equipment: EPIC and Apollo cardiac charting systems
- Call and Scheduling:
- Call team covers three campuses within 6-15 miles of each other
- Must be within 30-minute response time to home campus; response time to other campuses may be longer
- Call frequency varies; recent example: 8 callbacks in 30 days
- Minimum call requirements: 10 weeknight shifts, 2 weekend shifts (1 IR and 1 Cardiac), plus holidays
- Floating required daily and on call as needed
- Schedule approved by supervisor; no self-scheduling
- Shift Hours:
- Cardiologist hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday-Friday
- On-call hours: 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM weekdays, 7:30 AM - 7:30 AM weekends
- Orientation: 1 week unit/department-specific orientation including on-call buddy call
- Dress Code: Surgical greens
- Additional Notes:
- Versatile lab primarily performing interventional cases with cardiac inpatient add-ons
- Prepared for STEMI cases and stabilization procedures including IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
Additional Requirements
- Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles of the facility
- Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO extensions allowed
