Description

Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule Notes:

  • 4x12 shifts (48 hours) option available
  • Weekend shifts required on a rotating basis, as needed
  • No block scheduling except possible weekend block consideration
  • On-call as needed

Required Experience & Eligibility

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required and must be renewed annually (except for pediatric hospital assignments)

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license for Tennessee or multistate license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC only)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC only)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required and must be renewed annually (except for pediatric hospital assignments)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required only if assigned to Pediatrics, ER, PICU, or specific locations (not generally required for this role)
  • Other certifications (e.g., TNCC, EFM, NRP) are preferred or required only for specific units, not for this MS/Tele role

Required Health & Immunization Documents

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if positive, clear chest X-ray within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30); exemptions require mask-wearing in patient areas
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start date (no pending results accepted)
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year (must pass; facial hair not allowed)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 60 days of start including:
    • Statewide, county, federal searches
    • Education verification (diploma/transcript not accepted as verification)
    • Sex offender search (run separately)
    • Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (required for TN facilities)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually
  • Two recent professional references required
  • Skills checklist and competency exams must be current (within 1 year) and updated annually
  • Internal evaluation required if employed with agency for 1 year or more

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, recent within 6 months)
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidery allowed
  • Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start
  • EPIC questionnaire required for RNs; EPIC experience may allow testing out of training
  • Onsite fit test and questionnaire must be completed prior to start date
  • Submission packet includes application, references, skills checklist, license, and certification info

Notes

  • Large hospital experience preferred
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; changes after offer require manager approval
  • Only one job submission per facility allowed
