Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Towson, Maryland
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 9 weeks
Job Description
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies.
- Accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and others under direction.
- Utilize specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
- Must be willing to care for Telemetry patients as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with stroke patients.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Additional Information
- Candidates may request time off equivalent to one week of contracted hours during the assignment.
- Orientation sessions are scheduled up to 6 weeks in advance and occur every other week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Overtime starts after 48 hours worked.
- Facility is a 257 licensed bed acute and sub-acute care center with a high volume of admissions and emergency visits.
- The position involves working in a well-established suburban hospital setting with a broad range of medical services.
