Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – STICU

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks


Unit & Patient Population

  • 20-bed unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1; 1:1 ratio common for higher acuity patients
  • Patient types include:
    • Neuro patients with brain herniation and brain drains
    • Ortho trauma patients requiring traction
    • Cardiovascular device patients (balloon pumps, Impellas, Ekos)
    • Post-op open-heart CABG patients
    • Open abdomen patients often requiring bedside re-operations
    • Renal patients requiring bedside CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
    • Medical ICU patients overflow as needed
  • ECMO program planned to start in summer

Shift & Hours

  • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • At least one completed travel assignment
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting

Additional Information

  • Strict 75-mile radius travel restriction applies
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but ICU/STICU experience is essential
