Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – STICU

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

20-bed unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1; 1:1 ratio common for higher acuity patients
Patient types include:
- Neuro patients with brain herniation and brain drains
- Ortho trauma patients requiring traction
- Cardiovascular device patients (balloon pumps, Impellas, Ekos)
- Post-op open-heart CABG patients
- Open abdomen patients often requiring bedside re-operations
- Renal patients requiring bedside CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
- Medical ICU patients overflow as needed
ECMO program planned to start in summer

Shift & Hours

Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Minimum 2 years of Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) experience, including experience within the last year
At least one completed travel assignment
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in an Acute Care setting

Additional Information

Strict 75-mile radius travel restriction applies
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required but ICU/STICU experience is essential
