Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care (MedSurg)
Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks
Job Details
- Unit size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
- Shifts: 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday shifts: As needed
- Telemetry patients present but monitored on a different unit
- Floating required to acute care, cardiology, and emergency care for patient holds
- Nurse aides (CNAs) available with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
- EMR system: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
- Orientation: 1 week general orientation including EMR training, plus 2 days floor-specific orientation
- Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care (MedSurg)
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required (no first-time travelers)
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- NIHSS certification required (AHA)
- Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from the hospital as per the traveler's driver’s license
