Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care (MedSurg)

Location: Albany, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 personnel
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
  • Shifts: 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday shifts: As needed
  • Telemetry patients present but monitored on a different unit
  • Floating required to acute care, cardiology, and emergency care for patient holds
  • Nurse aides (CNAs) available with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
  • EMR system: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
  • Orientation: 1 week general orientation including EMR training, plus 2 days floor-specific orientation
  • Scrub color: Caribbean Blue

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care (MedSurg)
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required (no first-time travelers)
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • NIHSS certification required (AHA)
  • Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from the hospital as per the traveler's driver’s license

  • Proximity to major cities: 175 miles to Atlanta, GA; 88 miles to Tallahassee, FL; 134 miles to Shell Point Beach, FL
  • Housing options available; generally gated, safe, and clean properties with regular availability
