Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Georgia, Albany
Job Details
- Specialty: OR RN

- Contract Length: 17 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 40 hours per week
- Typical Shift Time: 10:45 AM – 9:15 PM with rotating days off and weekday/weekend call
Facility & Work Environment
- 19 operating suites
- Approximately 55-60 cases per day (~1000 cases per month)
- Full-service OR (no major pediatrics, no transplants, not a Level 1 trauma center but functions as Level 2)
- Common cases include ortho/neuro trauma, robotics; no C-sections in main OR
- EMR system: Meditech
- Ventilator patients primarily recover in ICU
- 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support available
- Surgeons on call 24/7, covering their own cases
- Charge nurse (nurse manager) oversees unit
- OR techs must be CST certified
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, with OR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Call and Weekend Requirements
- RN weekend coverage approximately once per quarter
- RN call approximately every 7th weekend; no weekday call
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Call coverage limited to cases within nurse’s competency; specialty teams handle ortho/neuro and cardio/thoracic cases
- Holiday shifts rotate with permanent staff
Orientation & Other Notes
- One week floor-specific orientation provided
- Scrubbing by RNs is preferred but not required
- Scrub color and scrubs provided
- No floating required
- Strict 75-mile radius from address on traveler's driver’s license to hospital (driver’s license must be submitted)
This position is ideal for OR RNs with solid perioperative experience seeking a full-service surgical environment with a variety of cases and a supportive team structure.
