Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) (Days)
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 202-bed regional hospital serving a broad geographic area with a full spectrum of surgical services, including general elective and critical/life-saving procedures.
- Surgical specialties include orthopedics, endovascular, and others.
- Shift: Days, 10-hour shifts (6:45am–5:15pm) with non-consecutive working days and random weekdays off (Monday–Friday).
- Call requirements (if contract extends beyond initial end date):
- One weeknight call per week (7pm–11pm)
- One weekend call per month, rotating between:
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7pm–7am
- Saturday and Sunday 7am–7pm
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of RN experience.
- Michigan RN license verification required (LARA and Nursys). If any license issues exist, a written explanation is recommended for manager review.
- Skills checklist for RN specialties completed within the past year is required.
- Full-time employees of this health system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Endovascular, Urgent Care, or Obstetrics is preferred.
Important Policies
- Strict 3-strike attendance policy:
- Termination after 3 absences or being more than 20 minutes late for scheduled shifts.
- Exceptions considered for communicable diseases or hospitalization with supporting evidence.
- Policy effective starting 6/1/2024.
Additional Information
- Hospital provides scrubs (dress code).
- Nonbillable initial hours and specific overtime/call back markups apply (not included here).
- Local traveler policy applies for those within 35 miles of the facility.
