Description

Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Maryville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Total 40 hours per week

Job Description

  • Must have experience with Ultrasound in addition to mammography
  • Work setting: Outpatient
  • Procedures performed:
    • 3D Mammography
    • Diagnostic Mammography
    • Digital Mammography
    • Screening Mammography
  • Equipment used: GE systems
  • Must have at least 1 year of EPIC electronic health record experience
  • Unit does not accept first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
  • Scrub color: Black

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one prior travel assignment as a Mammography Technologist
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Driver’s license required immediately upon signing for computer access and must be carried on duty
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Background check covering 7 years within 12 months of start date, including:
    • Social Security trace
    • Alias searches
    • State and county searches for all places lived/worked in last 7 years
    • Sex offender check
    • International searches if applicable
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
  • Education verification of highest level completed
  • Drug screening within 1 year of start, updated annually (5-panel minimum)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation
  • Immunization and health document requirements including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years if working in high-risk areas
    • Flu vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal requirement)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or immunity
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Badge photo required prior to start (passport style, light background, no obstructions)

Orientation and Training

  • Online modules (approx. 12 hours) must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
  • Pass/fail testing (medication and arrhythmia exams) required prior to orientation with two attempts allowed
  • Core competency training (Parts I, II, III) required annually, covering universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA, patient safety goals, and more

Additional Notes

  • Must comply with facility-specific policies including floating policy (not required for this location)
  • HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgments required
  • Candidates must upload all required documentation with valid expiration dates as specified
  • No first-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience is mandatory

This position is ideal for experienced Mammography Technologists with ultrasound skills and prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week outpatient assignment on a day shift schedule.
