Description

Radiology Technologist

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week


Job Overview

  • Perform X-rays in the Emergency Department (ED), portable imaging on floors and Critical Care Unit (CCU).
  • Provide coverage in the Operating Room (OR) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) as needed.
  • Workload includes ED, inpatient, emergent fluoroscopy cases, and urgent OR cases.
  • Facility is a Level II Trauma center with a 400-bed hospital, including a 33-room OR and 30-room ED.
  • Must badge in and out at the facility.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating C-arm equipment.
  • Experience in Diagnostic Radiology including OR coverage.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Orientation & Training

  • One-week orientation:
    • Day 1: Computer work and paperwork processing.
    • Remaining days: Hands-on training with another technologist to learn facility-specific procedures and exams.

Additional Information

  • Dress code:
    • OR shifts: Hospital scrubs provided.
    • Diagnostic Radiology shifts: Grey scrubs required (not provided).
  • Floating to other units/departments within Diagnostic Radiology, including OR, is expected.
  • Local placement within an 80-mile radius.
  • Schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week:
    • Friday 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
    • Saturday 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM
    • Sunday 5:30 PM – 6:00 AM

  • SECTRA PACS imaging system.
