Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Day Shift)
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Overview
- Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care hospital.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:12 using a team nursing model (effectively 1:6-7 with shared caseload among RNs, LPNs, and Med Nurses).
- On-call and weekend shifts required as needed.
- Weekend block scheduling may be considered but no open block schedules.
- Strict 100-mile radius rule: local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted.
- First-time travel nurses are generally not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience.
- Prior travel experience is required.
- Large hospital experience is required.
- Level I Trauma experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients.
- Experience in an Acute Care setting.
- Large hospital experience.
- One completed travel nursing assignment.
- Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS).
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Must submit all requested time-off (RTO) at time of application; late submissions will not be approved.
- Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats/headphones, no glasses glare, taken within last 6 months).
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
- Facility-specific documents and questionnaires (e.g., EPIC questionnaire for RNs) must be completed.
- Flu exemption requests require detailed documentation and may delay start date.
- Physical exam attesting to ability to meet job demands required within 1 year of start.
- Onsite fit test and questionnaire must be completed prior to start date if applicable.
