Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (18:45 - 07:15)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Unit: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Float with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) focus
Weekend Requirement: Every other Friday and Saturday
Job Description
- Float RN position covering Medical-Surgical Telemetry and PCU units.
- Must have 2+ years of recent cardiac nursing experience, including care of cardiac catheterization patients and other cardiac patients on PCU.
- Experience with cardiac patients and telemetry monitoring is essential.
- EPIC electronic health record experience is required.
- Weekend coverage every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights).
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Rhode Island
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
- 2+ years of cardiac nursing experience
- Experience with cardiac catheterizations (cardiac Caths)
- Experience with cardiac patients on Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- PCU experience
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Driver’s license, state ID, or passport required for onboarding.
- Drug screening (10-panel) required within 60 days of start (note: specific rules apply only to California locations).
- Annual completion of color-blind test.
- Attestation and background checks as required.
- Primary source verification of license and certifications within 30 days of start.
- Must pass the following exams with a minimum score of 80%:
- Basic Pharmacology Exam
- Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening
- Core Competencies Exam
- Specialty Exam
- Education verification (diploma or transcripts) required if third-party verification is unavailable.
- COVID-19 vaccination: 2 doses plus booster or documented declination.
- Immunization or immunity proof required for:
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination)
- Varicella (vaccination or immunity titer)
- Tdap (declination not accepted in Rhode Island)
- Annual respirator fit test required.
- Tuberculosis test required.
- Physical/health statement confirming clearance to work, completed annually or within 60 days of start.
