Registered Nurse - Telemetry I
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
- Must have 2+ years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience.
- Epic electronic health record experience within the last 12 months is required and must be listed on the resume.
- Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
- Return to Office (RTO) requests limited to a maximum of 7 days; no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment.
- Block scheduling may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis; indicate interest if applicable.
- Solid black scrubs are required.
- Must hold an accredited nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit test for approved N95 masks within one year of start date (updated annually).
- Pre-employment physical within one year confirming ability to safely perform essential job functions.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- MMR (2 vaccines or titer with boosters if negative)
- Hepatitis B (complete series or titer with boosters if negative; signed declinations accepted)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or titer with boosters if negative)
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with no declinations accepted
- Annual TB questionnaire (facility-specific form)
- Influenza vaccine required October through April (medical/religious exemptions require approval and documentation).
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly encouraged (medical/religious exemptions reviewed case-by-case).
Background and Screening
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (updated annually).
- Comprehensive criminal background check compliant with FCRA standards, including 7-year search, SSN trace, and nationwide checks, completed within 90 days of start.
- OIG, EPLS, and other exclusionary database searches completed within 90 days of start.
- Third-party education verification required.
- Must provide Social Security card or acceptable documentation.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
- Candidates exceeding 7 days of requested RTO will be automatically rejected.
- Breaks in service of 30 days or more require re-verification of certain credentials and screenings.
