Job Opportunity: Cardiology Technologist

Location: Ithaca, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 07:30 AM – 04:00 PM


Job Description

  • Perform duties as a Radiology Technologist specializing in interventional cardiac catheterizations and invasive vascular procedures.
  • Experience required in scrubbing and circulating during procedures such as coronary and peripheral angiography, angioplasty, thrombectomy, and stenting.
  • Knowledge of supplies and devices used in these procedures is essential.
  • STEMI call is required; shift details can be discussed during contract negotiations.

Required Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New York.
  • ARRT certification.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (must remain valid throughout the assignment).
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (must remain valid throughout the assignment).

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Radiology Technologist experience.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccine proof or agency declination (optional).
  • MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; titers must show results for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella individually.
  • Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required.
  • Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required.
  • Tdap: Preferred but not required; if no record, a declination form is needed.
  • TB Test: Must have one of the following within required timeframes:
    • Two skin PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months), or
    • One Quantiferon/Spot test within 12 months.
    • For past positive TB tests, chest X-ray within 12 months may be required.
  • Fit Test: Must be completed within the last 12 months prior to start; annual requirement.
  • Physical/Health Statement: Must be from within the last 12 months, including height, weight, vitals, Snellen eye chart, and a statement of clearance with no restrictions.

Onboarding & Documentation Requirements

  • Completed skills checklist for the assigned unit, updated annually.
  • Core competency exam with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Valid US driver’s license or state ID (cannot be expired).
  • Agency background check within 30 days of start, including:
    • SSN address trace report covering all counties lived/worked in last 7 years.
    • National and county criminal searches.
    • FACIS 3 check.
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start (9+ panel including amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, oxycodone, PCP, methadone, methaqualone, propoxyphene, nitrites).
  • Color headshot photo (JPEG format, professional appearance).
  • Employment verification of most recent employer.
  • Two professional references:
    • One supervisor reference from employment within the last 12 months.
    • One supervisor or peer reference from employment within the last 3 years.
  • Signed and dated job description.
  • Completion of various required forms and acknowledgments found in the document library (e.g., code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgment, parking registration, confirmation of assignment, self-study packet and quiz).

Additional Notes

  • Contract length is 13 weeks.
  • Shift includes STEMI call responsibilities.
  • All required verifications and documentation must be completed and submitted according to specified timelines prior to assignment start.
