Job Opportunity: PACU Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Grants, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience as both OR Circulator and PACU nurse.
• Average OR cases per day: 6-8
• Case types:

  • 96% GI Endoscopy and EGD
  • 2-4 Orthopedic surgeries
  • 1-3 General surgeries
  • 2-3 Podiatry
  • 2-3 OBGYN
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Call schedule: Every 3rd day and every 3rd weekend (Saturday/Sunday) rotation
• EHR system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Experience as an OR Circulator
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current certifications issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Experience working with Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references within the last 9 months (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit
• Positive attitude and flexibility to stay late if needed

Work Environment

• Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week)
• Rotating call schedule including weekends
• Fast-paced OR environment with a high volume of GI endoscopy cases

This opportunity is ideal for experienced OR and PACU nurses comfortable with Cerner EHR and looking for a travel contract in New Mexico.
