Sonographer (Cardiac) - Temporary Position

Location: Batesville, Arkansas

Job Summary

Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams and procedures efficiently according to physician orders. Collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, and interdepartmental staff. Maintain a positive and cooperative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete studies timely and assist others during downtime.
• Monitor exam charges and late lists daily for the ultrasound department.
• Organize workload during high volume and communicate pending exams to colleagues.
• Assist physicians with radiology procedures as needed.
• Maintain minimal inventory of supplies and develop efficient supply utilization methods.
• Handle ultrasound equipment safely and follow cleaning protocols between patients and at the end of the day.
• Respond to on-call duties promptly, arriving within 30 minutes when called in.
• Support other radiology procedures when needed.
• Adhere to attendance, dress code, safety, and infection control policies.
• Participate in required hospital and department in-services and meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of sonography experience.
• Must have Echo and Vascular experience.
• Proficient in performing echocardiograms with Definity Contrast.
• Able to perform a variety of echo and vascular studies including:

  • TTE Echocardiograms
  • TEE
  • Stress echo
  • Venous reflux exams
  • Venous dopplers
  • Carotid doppler
  • Arterial doppler
  • ABI
  • Pericardiocentesis
  • Thrombin injections
  • Vein mapping exams
• Ability to start own IV.
• Experience with MediTech EMR system.
• Active ARDMS Certification.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Must provide 2 supervisory references from within the last 2 years.
• Must submit a current skills checklist relevant to sonography (within 1 year).

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must reside outside a 90-mile radius of Batesville; applicants between 90 and 150 miles may be considered but are less likely to be selected.
• Dress code requires traveler-provided matching scrubs.

• Philips CVX Epiq ultrasound machines (3 units)
• Philips Elite Epiq ultrasound machine (1 unit)
• Vasculab ABI machine

This position offers an opportunity to work in a busy ultrasound department with a variety of cardiac and vascular diagnostic procedures, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
