Description

Respiratory Therapist - Akron, Ohio

Job Type

Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Shift

7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Job Description

Confirm physician orders and assess appropriateness of respiratory therapy.
Monitor and document patient response and tolerance to therapy.
Notify healthcare team of any unusual patient reactions.
Explain treatment procedures and address patient concerns.
Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures according to protocols.
Respond to emergencies and assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Set up and maintain respiratory equipment; administer medical gases and medications.
Assist with stocking supplies and complete billing documentation.
Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide education to patients, families, students, and healthcare professionals.
Attend in-services and meetings to maintain proficiency and stay current on new techniques and equipment.

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year.
Experience in an acute care setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
