Description

Registered Nurse Emergency Department

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Day/Evening rotating shifts (07:00 - 19:30 and 11:00 - 23:30)
Patient Ratio: 1:5
ED Size: 48 treatment spaces


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department on day/evening rotating shifts.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a 1:5 patient ratio.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • PALS (American Heart Association)
  • 8 hours of Stroke Training
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding Requirements

  • State license verification completed within 30 days prior to start.
  • Centralus Skills Checklist for the assigned unit, fully completed and updated annually.
  • Centralus Core Competency Exam (Nursing) with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Agency background check within 30 days of start including SSN address trace, county and national criminal searches, and FACIS 3 check.
  • Agency drug screen within 30 days of start (9+ panel).
  • Driver’s license or state ID (valid and unexpired).
  • Centralus Resume documenting all employment and education for the last 7 years with dates and locations.
  • Two professional references: one supervisor from last 12 months, one supervisor or peer from last 3 years.
  • Signed and dated job description.
  • Verification of most recent employer.
  • Completion of required forms and acknowledgments found in the document library (e.g., code of conduct, sexual harassment acknowledgment, confirmation of assignment, self-study packet and quiz, parking registration).
  • Color headshot photo (JPEG, no filters, solid background).
  • Centralus Epic Questionnaire (specific form required).
  • TB Questionnaire Form (specific form required).
  • Education Mission Statement signed for initial assignments.

  • Contract length is 13 weeks.
  • Shift coverage includes 07:00-19:30 and 11:00-23:30.
  • Patient ratio is 1 nurse to 5 patients.
