Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) (Afternoon Shift)

Location: Marshalltown, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a 16-bed Emergency Room unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
• Administer critical drips as needed.
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
• Orientation dates available (specific dates not included here).
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Standard workweek: 36-40 hours; overtime applies after 40 hours.
• Scrub colors allowed: Navy, Black, or Gray (solid tops and bottoms).

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multi-state license at time of submission.
• Minimum 24 months of current or recent Emergency Department (ED) experience.
• Recent travel nursing experience required.
• Current and active certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency)
• Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department nursing required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred.

Preferred / Nice to Have Certifications

• De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) – can be obtained during onboarding.
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate – can be obtained during onboarding.

Additional Information

• Employee separation policy restricts past employees from working travel assignments in other markets within 12 months if previously employed full-time or PRN in the float pool.
